Clock & Alarm
Shows and sets the device's clock, and lets you arm a wakeup alarm. This is a different screen from the RTC page inside About, which only shows and sets the clock and has no alarm.
The screen
Two pages, switched with Gray: Clock and Alarm.
On the Clock page: the current time as hh:mm:ss, the date as dd/mm/yyyy, and the day of the week, each refreshed from the clock about once a second. Until the first reading arrives, the time shows as "--:--:-- (waiting)" instead - this only happens on a cold open, not every time you come back to the screen.
On the Alarm page: the alarm time, its repeat interval written out (Once, Every hour, Every day, Every week, Every month, Every year - with the weekday, day, or day and month shown alongside when the interval needs one), and whether the alarm is Armed or Disarmed.
A status line below reports the result of the last action, such as "Time set: 08:30:00" or "Alarm set".
Controls
| Button | Action |
|---|---|
| Gray | Switch between the Clock and Alarm pages |
| Yellow | On the Clock page, set the time. On the Alarm page, set the alarm |
| Green | On the Clock page, zero the seconds. On the Alarm page, arm or disarm the alarm |
| Blue | Not used on this screen |
| Red | Retired as the exit control while idle - unlabelled, does nothing. Once a set-time or set-alarm entry is open, it becomes a back arrow that cancels the entry and returns |
| Cancel | This help page |
HOME leaves the screen from here, as it does everywhere else in the menu.
Setting the clock
Yellow walks through six entries in order: weekday (0=Sunday to 6=Saturday), day (1-31), month (1-12), year (last two digits, 0-99), hour (0-23), then minute (0-59). Seconds are always set to zero. Each entry only overwrites its own field, so typing a digit for one entry does not clear the ones you already answered, and the cursor moves on to the next entry by itself. The new time is sent to the clock only after the minute entry, so leaving the sequence partway through with Red leaves the clock unchanged.
Green, on the Clock page, sets the seconds to zero and sends the current time again right away - a quick way to align the clock to the top of a minute without going through the full set sequence.
Setting the alarm
Yellow first shows a pick list of six repeat choices: Once, Every hour, Every day, Every week, Every month, Every year. Opening this list now blanks out the alarm page's own button labels first, instead of leaving them behind to draw over the list. What it asks next depends on that choice - every choice asks for a time, "Every week" also asks for a weekday, "Every month" also asks for a day of the month, and "Every year" asks for both a day and a month. "Every hour" only asks for a minute, since the hour does not apply. As with the clock entries, answering one field does not disturb the others already entered. The alarm is sent to the clock as soon as the last entry in the sequence is answered.
Green arms or disarms the alarm using whatever it is currently set to; it does not open the set sequence. Disarming does not clear the alarm's time or repeat choice - arming again later reuses them.
What persists and how it refreshes
The clock and alarm both live on the keyboard controller, not the display; this screen mirrors them. The clock readout tracks whatever the board manager currently holds rather than consuming a one-shot update, so it keeps ticking across visits to this screen instead of going stale. If the board manager has not been seeded with a valid time yet, opening this screen asks the PIC for one. Alarm-armed state is re-read whenever it changes, so it stays in sync even with changes made outside this screen. If a set-time or set-alarm entry is in progress, the readout stops refreshing so your typing is not overwritten mid-edit; leaving the screen partway through an entry and coming back no longer leaves it stuck - the next visit starts clean.
